****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Howdy folks and welcome aboard the baliwaves ’99 for today’s Sundday Session on surfing and weather conditions from here on the friendliest little tropical holiday island of Bal.
No chance of a morning surf check on the Outer Reefs as we were up and on the road long before sunrise heading for Balian up on Bali’s West Coast. I did take a quick look at Kuta Reef to Airports since back home and with the tide on the run in it was pretty well dead flat.
As you can see in today’s photo gallery there were a few fun sized waves up at Balian hitting the A Frame peak in the chest to over head region. The left hander that breaks through the inside was looking the best, slightly smaller at waist chest high plus. All in all, with only 2 other surfers in the water when we pulled into the car park and head high waves we did pretty good today. I think you would have been very hard pressed to find head high waves and only 2 surfers anywhere else in Bali today !
Surfing conditions were clean and smooth with the wind light cross / on shore. First the wind was coming out of the WNW and then slowly swung further around to the West and increasing in strength.
Tidal info for today had a 0.6mtr Low @ 10.00Am and then filling back in with a 1.9mtr High around the 4.30PM mark.
Weather wise (it was a shocker for trying to shoot photos) mainly cloudy with a few drops of rain while we were traveling up the coast this morning. Still overcast now at 2.00PM with the outside temperature sitting on 29 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is on 79%. Wind direction is West at 8-10knot. Sunrise was at 5.50AM and will set at 6.26PM.
