Mt Agung up date, well there is no up date I guess, as I haven’t heard or seen anything as yet, fingers crossed she settles back into a deep slumber. So as long as you avoid Jetstar and Virgin out of Australia you shouldn’t have anything to worry about except the waves and the easy living.

On the surf front today, we took an early morning run down to the Southern end of the island hoping to see a little puls eof swell and some clean off shore wind. As it shows in today’s photo gallery that’s exactly what we got. Wave height was mainly in the 2-4ft class but there were a few sly double head high waves sneaking through to the Main Peak and Temple’s as the tide was pushing in. Surfing conditions were very clean and tidy for the morning session with the wind first coming out of the ESE before swinging more to the SE then SSE by late morning. Crowd wise I took a head count of 37 surfers spread from the Main Peak down to the top of the Racetrack, and another 7 or so up at Temple’s.

Weather wise it was a mostly hot and sunny day with a few clouds drifting through. Right now at 5.15PM the temperature is still a warm 29C, with the Humidity at 73%. Wind direction is SE-SSE at 12-16knot.

It’s pretty obvious out on the streets that Bali has lost a lot of Western tourism from the possible volcano eruption. But now it’s so damned obvious that the main reason that there is any traffic jams is the amount of empty taxi’s driving around at 15kms/ph.
