Ok so like I said in our Bali Surf n Weather Video Report yesterday (Twitter feed) wave height on the Outer Reefs was only just showing in the 2-3ft class with maybe a slightly bigger one hitting Middles as the tide ran out. Wave height did build some through the day but I was at home editing our new Video Clip with footage from a few different locations here in Bali. You can find it over on the right hand side of the home page under Latest Video.

This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs (Re Twitter Feed, Bali Morning Surf n Weather Video Report) was showing a solid swell injection between Kuta Reef and Airports. Wave height was bigger down on the Middle’s to Kuta Reef end with solid double head high plus waves hitting Middles and Kuta Reef also in the solid in of it’s height spectrum. No shortage of surfers and even some surf schools heading out there when I was on the beach. I don’t know about you guys but I feel surf schools should not be taking learners out there in these kind of conditions, no problems in under head high conditions but it was looking fairly serious out there today. Surfing conditions were a bit wonky with the wind light on shore and the tide already running out.

From there as it shows in our latest photo gallery we took a run over to the East Coast and caught the last of the action at the always in season location of Keramas. You can see there were some solid waves hitting the lava rock shelf. Surfing conditions were still clean even with the wind already sung to the SSE – S. The main factor that the tide was dropping fast and looking evil on the shallow end section. Only a dozen or surfers left in the water while I was on the scene.

Weather wise out there so far today it’s been a warm old morning here on the holiday island and currently at 1.30pm the temp is on 30 degree’s Celsius. Humidity is at 71% and UV index is on 11. Wind direction is SSW – S with gusts up to 18km/h.

Money / health saving tip, If you plan on riding around chasing waves in Bali on a motorcycle / scooter then make sure you wear a helmet and have a valid license for Indonesia ! Lately I’ve seen major road side license check points on both sides of the island. If your on a bike and especially if you have a surfboard then you will be stopped. These days your not going to pull it off with a 5-10 dollar on the spot donation, the times and the fines they are a changing big time.

Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Bali, –1US$=Rp13,925 –1AU$=Rp9,450 — Don’t forget to take care using your cards in the ATm’s be alert. Remember cash is always the best way to travel and will always get you the highest exchange rate !
