BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
29th March 2020
Hello surfers (KEEP READING BELOW) and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Hey and just to keep everyone up today and a little bit of nostalgia thrown in I’ve gone and dug back into some old drives and selected a 45+ photos to show you. There are a few good memories in this lot for me and I’m sure a lot of you will recognize some of the faces and locations. Some of the newer viewers might be scratching their heads and wondering but that’s cool I reckon. I’d like to thank my old friend Dave Tinson for G-Land photos, in my opinion Tino was the best photographer to shoot G-Land on a daily basis for a couple of seasons in a row.
The situation here in Bali at the moment isn’t as bad as everyone thinks it would be, and I sincerely hope it stays this way. Most of the best surfing locations have been closed off to the public and I think that’s how it has to be. But there are still some surfing legends in their own minds that think it’s cool to drive around Bali looking for waves and then flaunting the rules to go surfing. My opinion is if we all do the right thing now for a few weeks, maybe more then we can reap the benefits of un crowded waves when the smoke clears. But you can read more in our Bali Lock Down Blog on baliwaves. I won’t get a chance to up date it today but will be on it first thing tomorrow morning.
What I have gathered from friends with ocean views around the place is that wave height is still pretty small here in Bali. The West Coast faring a little worse that the East side in wave height. But with the fresh out of the ESE-SE and off shore (Tradewind) between Kuta and Uluwatu. Just for the record the next tide today in Bali will be a 0.5mtr Low at 6.40pm.
Weather wise it’s been your typical perfect hot and sunny dry weather.
Tomorrows Surf forecast is showing more small waves tomorrow morning with a small bump towards mid afternoon. Then by the 31st of March a new and solid swell should test out the authorities to keep the surfers out of the water. Further out there is a big blanket of fresh swell moving up the Indian Ocean with lots of SW direction in it. Hopefully we get the all clear to surf again by then.
News Break. I’ve just heard through the Canggu Community that Canggu Beach is now closed to the public. Along with most other popular locations and it’s about time.
Ok friends stay safe and keep your heads down, if you want to get through it then for now where ever you are just stay at home. Keep an eye on the baliwaves.com and we will do our best to keep all you Bali (real) people up to date.
