BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
15th-17th October 2020
A BIG hello to everyone tuning in, and a SPECIAL hello to our friends that really know us and have shown us the much needed support through this extremely tough mentally and physically time. We are going into our 8th month of no income and I’m sure you would be able to work out how hard that would be. It is only through your help that we are keeping everything together keeping the lights on and food on the table.
We hope everyone is surviving the best they can, here at ground level in Bali it really is about survival for the average people. For my self it’s all about getting through one day at a time, and some days are definitely better than others. The pandemic is dragging on and the longer it goes the more damage to the average persons mental health is really being stretched. We have made it through 10 months of no Family income only through the kindness and consideration of our friends. A big deep heart felt thanks to everyone who has considered our well being here in Bali.
Okey everyone well the last couple of days there hasn’t been a lot of swell hitting Bali so my good friend Nyoman and I have had a little fishing binge. No big sun up till sun down like days gone by but 3 hours trolling on the 15th and 4 hours trolling, live baiting and jigging on the 16th. It was still hard work although for a fisherman at heart very enjoyable and stress relieving being out on the ocean away from any kind of negativity or threat of catching a deadly virus. All in all I only boated one 6.5kg Spanish Mackerel and it sure did put up a good fight with 3-4 good line peeling reel screaming runs.
Today the 17th Ray and I took a run up to Canggu, we knew there wouldn’t be a lot of swell about but Canggu is a bit of a magnet facing pretty much into the SW. We turned up to find waist to head high (occasional bigger ones) waves with a light and mostly west wind. The tide was about two thirds of the way in. Not your usual World class Canggu but there were some nice little waves coming through and the local boys were tearing it to shreds. Ray also shot some video today so stay tuned and as soon as we get enough footage to edit something worth a watch we will get it to you.
Weather wise today and the last few days it’s been hot. Right now at 1.40the temp is on 30 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 75%. Wind direction is coming out of the WSW at 20km/h.
The next tide today here in Bali will be a dry reef exposing 0.0mtr Low at 4.07pm this afternoon.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is saying that we might see a slight bump in wave height. Early wind to be light and variable and them predicted to be SSE-SE by midday. Early morning tide will be low running in.
Hey if anyone else can send us through some surf reports and photos from around Bali we will also be happy to give your business some air time on the baliwaves in exchange during this low to no income pandemic we are feeling.
Like I said it’s day to day living here in Bali, one day it’s a World of depression and the next you have the smile back on your face and a spring in your step, one day at a time.
Ok everyone thanks again for your support and please stay tuned to the baliwaves.com and our more frequent video reports can be found on our Instagram and FB accounts as well.
