BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
3rd October 2020
A BIG hello to everyone tuning in, and a SPECIAL hello to our friends that really know us and have shown us the much needed support through this extremely tough mentally and physically time. We are going into our 10th month of no income and I’m sure you would be able to work out how hard that would be. It is only through your help that we are keeping everything together keeping the lights on and food on the table.
Just first up I really want to express just how stoked we are to have friends helping us out through this zero income period / year. On the up side we made it through the month of September and even managed to get baliwaves a basic new desk top computer. Not the usual high speed machine that we normally run but one that’s still good enough to get the job done without crashing or freezing up. A big big thanks to you people that have helped support us over the years !!!
I did manage to get out for a couple of fishing sessions as well but this last week gone by has been fish free. I only managed one 3kg fish from 6hrs total fish time. But still that’s enough to keep us going for a little longer. I was going to head over to the East Coast yesterday but by the time I was ready the wind was already up out of the East so I canned it. I did hear there some nice waves at Keramas but with a solid crowd.
Today the 3rd and I made damn sure I was up early enough to catch the supper clean and glass like conditions this morning over on the East side of the island. With a slight bump in wave height predicted we were on scene by 7.15am. The tide was starting to fill back in for the 4 surfers in the water with head to well over head high set waves. It was still a touch low first up but it didn’t take long to start cranking.
The local Keramas surfers were all over it along with some of the regular ex pats and there was definitely no shortage of tube rides. Some of the inside section waves were trying to turn themselves inside out they were that round and hollow. We hung out till around 10.00am just as the wind was starting to freshen up out of the ESE. But surfing conditions were still good enough in any mans standards. I’d say the crowd would have peaked at maybe 18-20 in total. There were also plenty of waves being ridden up and down the beach from the main break.
Weather wise the day got off to a mostly overcast start but we were seeing plenty of blue sky by around 9.30am. Temperature wise it was hot and humid over on the black sand beach and out midday temperature made it to 31 degree’s Celsius. Right now at 3.20pm it’s still a warm 29C, Humidity is at 69%. Wind direction is coming out of the ESE 15km/h.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is calling for almost the same conditions as we had today. Maybe a touch smaller early with the low tide then bumping back up with the incoming tide.
Ok crew that’s all from us today it’s been a bloody long day waking up at 3.30am and not being able to get back to sleep. Thanks for dropping into the original Bali surf report website and we should be back a bit sooner than later with more reports and photos from the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
