BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
10th – 11th April 2021

Hi Bali people and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report since back in 1999). We have been trying to keep the reports photos and videos coming through to you as best we can, but times have been tough and surfing conditions have been pretty ordinary in the early months of 2021, well so far anyway. Now with the season almost ready to go into full on Tradewind mode things will all start to look better.

Talking about hard times we are still having an extremely hard time. We would really like to give our heart felt thanks to all our friends that have helped us out with paying our bills and buying food etc. No income since Jan 2020 has been a long hard stressful slug. Thanks again ! So if anyone tuning in could spare us a dollar (Via our PayPal account) it would make a big difference for my family.

Our good friends down on the bukit at the Swell Bali hotel (Bingin) for sending us through the latest up date from Uluwatu. The boys were down at Uluwatu yesterday the 10th and sent this collection of photos to us. As it shows surfing conditions were clean and glassy down at Bali’s premier surfing location.

This morning the 11th Ray and I were down checking the waves and conditions here in Tuban around 8.30am. At the time the tide was filling in for a solid 2.3mtr New Moon high tide and the wind was light on shore out of the West. Yesterdays swell was a bit of a one hit wonder and as I thought would happen it was almost gone again this morning. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left was a very small and weak looking 2ft or chest high with maybe a couple of freak 3 foot set waves. But I didn’t see any of the latter.

That didn’t stop a big attendance of un tanned Europeans from “hitting the waves” Kuta Reef looked to be pretty busy with maybe 25 surfers and similar numbers in the line up at Airport Lefts, maybe more,.

Weather wise it’s been another hot one here on the holiday island of Bali. Right now at 2.30pm the temperature is 30 degree’s Celsius (although it feels more like 36C), Humidity is at 75%. Wind direction is now coming in out of the S-SW at 5-8kmh.

The next tide today in Bali will be a 0.4mtr Low at 4.04pm and we have a New Moon rising tonight.

Tomorrows Surf Forecast is saying that wave height will continue to back off along the wave period down to 11 seconds. The weather boys are also predicting more light and variable wind early before dedicating into the S-SW quad by mid morning.

Our long range forecast is still not showing the arrival of those sweet long lines of swell marching up the Indian Ocean to Bali just yet. We might see a small bump around the 14-15th. But the Indian Ocean is still being dominated by large High pressure systems that are not doing us surfers any favors.

Ok then well next week on the 14th don’t expect to much in the way of anything from the Balinese people except prayer and ceremonies for our Galungan (Hari Raya Galungan).
