BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
3rd – 4th April 2021
Hello everyone and thanks for tuning into the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since 1999) For our latest news and the best views from right here on your favorite surfing holiday destination of Bali. Hey what a ride we have ben on the last year or so over here, going from the point of almost being over crowded to almost a deserted ghost town here in the Tuban / Kuta area. No income coming in over this period for us has been a real humbling experience, not that we had much to splash around at the best of times. But we can’t thank our invaluable friends and supporters that have helped my family keep our heads above the water line. We still have awhile to go yet, so please if you can help keep us afloat a little longer we will be forever in your debt. Click this link for a fee free money transfer link via PayPal
The surf hasn’t been too bad at all the last couple of days and we made it out to shoot a few for you guys yesterday the 3rd. There has been waves at just about every location here along Bali’s West Coast with off shore ESE-E wind fanning the waves on the 1st and 2nd. Yesterday the 3rd the wind was light out of the West but not strong enough to take the shine off the waves at Canggu while we were on the scene. We waited until the tide had bottomed out and was starting to run back in around 9.00AM. Carefully weaving our way not stepping in any of the dog poop that is out of control between Echo beach and Pererenan we set up our camera gear.
With the tide still pretty low the Sandbar was the best option with some clean 2-4 foot waves and some nice deep tube rides on offer. But the low tide didn’t stop a solid crew of surfers from riding the Echo reef and the rocky bottomed river mouth waves. We hung out until around 10.30am and by that time the wind was a little stronger, still coming out of the West with maybe a touch of South in it.
This morning the 4th (Happy Easter everyone) our surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was still showing wave height in the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Aiport left. But with the wind already fresh out of the West as predicted
Weather wise it has been pretty hot here in bali the last few days but this onshore wind is cooling things down a little bit, well here close by the coast anyway. Right now at 10.00am the temperature is a warm 27 degree’s Celsius, with the Humidity ay 87%. The wind was fresh out of the West earlier but does seem to be a little lighter and more variable now.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is still showing wave height hanging in the in the 2-4ft class but the wind is predicted to be fresh out of the WSW.
Further out it’s going to be interesting to see what develops from a T/C that is forming off the top of NW Australia and underneath Eastern Indonesia. Hopefully it will jack up some swell for us around the 8-9th.
We have also posted another new video clip on the baliwaves. It does have a bit of surfing in it from Keramas but mainly shows you just how dead the streets of Kuta and legian are, especially in the always once busy area’s of Poppies lanes 1 & 2. It really is sad to see the once heart and soul and the daily bread and butter for Bali so empty.
On the Bali Corona Virus scene, it seems looking at the daily number of new cases how they have dropped off from 12-15K per day to now just over 4-5K nationally per day we are winning against the virus here. That’s incredible with only a small % of the population vaccinated. Especially now I’m seeing less and less people wearing masks and more and more domestic and International tourists here in Bali. It really does seem incredible but looking good for Bali opening up it’s “green zones” for International tourism to return.

I think for any visa matters or entry to Bali you will be better off seeking correct info from those government authorities concerned and not so much from Face book.
