BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
20th June 2021
Hello Bali people and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since 1999, for surfers by surfers) We hope everyone is doing the best they can in order to get this crazy World back on track and lives back to where they were before this pandemic began. I’m sure you all know that Bali’s most well know area’s namely Kuta / Legian are still like ghost towns with most doors closed and way too many for sale / rent signs on display.
Here in Tuban just to the South of Kuta is also barren of tourism and also doing it very tough. Usually all the guest house and Home stay’s are all doing well. But the last year and a half they are all empty, including our place. If any of our friends out there can spare us a dollar it would shore make a big difference for my family. If you can please click this link to get to our PayPal link or contact us directly, Thank You.
Alright well a little more bad luck has hit me again the last few days with another wound to the body. But already one visit to the specialist under my belt and currently on the mend, fingers crossed. At least this morning I was able to duck across to the East side of the island with Ray and hunt up some fresh photos and video for you guys.
Ray and I left a little earlier this morning to beat the traffic at Sanur, arriving on location around 8.00am with the tide running out. The wind was also a little cross shore but surfing conditions were still clean and tidy. When we first turned up it looked like all the surfers around 15 in total were all sitting way to deep, I’m talking 75mtrs to deep. While the waves on keramas were going un ridden. But when local Legian ripper “Tonyo” paddled out and sat in position the others soon joined him and some nice rides were enjoyed by everyone in the water.
We hung out until around 9.45 (mid tide) and when he packed up I think there was only a dozen or so surfers left in the water. I’m pretty sure there would have been a few other locations along the East Coast this working to help spread out the surfers. Like wise here along the West Coast I’m sure there would have been waves breaking at most locations.
Weather wise early it was mostly cloudy, if anyone saw my morning surf n weather video report you would have got a good idea. But right now at 2.30pm in the Kuta area we are back to the usual Bali blue sky. Temperature wise the mercury is 31C and the Humidity is at 76%. Wind direction is now pretty much straight out of the East at 20-25km/h.
The next tide today will be a 1.8mtr High just before sunset at 6.11pm
Tomorrow’s surf forecast is calling for wave height to back off over the next couple of days before we get a small bump on the 23rd and then a better swell arriving around the 26th. A little further out the Indian Ocean is lighting up with a couple of good looking swell generating Low pressure systems so late June into early July should be going off here in Indonesia.
On the Bali Corona Virus situation, things at the moment have taken a turn to the worse. New cases are surging through Sumatra and Java and Bali’s numbers of new cases are also rising. Vaccinations are going ahead as fast as possible which is a good thing. No news on Bali re opening to the proposed “green zone” in July as yet.
Ok then friends we hope you are safe and sound where ever you might be tuning in from. Life here in Tuban / Kuta is still hard and no change over the last 18 months. So we have decided to try and generate a little income by offering some original baliwaves printed tee shirts smaller size S-L-M the price is 9 dollars AUD and size XL-XXL the price is 12 dollars AUD.
