Bali Surf & Weather report
7th – 8th October 2021
Hello everyone and thanks for staying in touch with your No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali through us here at baliwaves.com. It’s been a very up and down last 21 months since we haven’t had our regular native English-speaking guests and visitors from Australia / America / NZ and England due to the pandemic. Hopefully that is going to change soon the way the World vaccination programs have been running. We really want to Thank all our friends and supporters for all the help that you have given us to help get us this far, we are almost through this. Please don’t give up on us through this last leg of “containment” So if you could spare a dollar or two (every dollar makes a difference) then hit this link https://www.baliwaves.com/2020/08/baliwaves-needs-your-support/
The latest news is that Bali will be reopening its international airport on the 14th of October. Firstly, opening only for a few selected countries, China, Japan, Singapore and New Zealand. But I don’t think too many Kiwi’s will be allowed to leave NZ, likewise with Singapore. It will involve 8 days of quarantine here in Bali at selected hotels in the Nusa Dua area. Then these countries will also impose more quarantine time on return to their respective countries. It will only be for fully vaccinated tourists. Visa is free for these selected countries while all other countries are still able to apply for the expensive “business” visa in the meantime. It’s a rapidly changing time for travel and international travel so if best check with your countries travel regulations for more extensive and accurate information.
Surf wise here in Bali and yesterday the 7th we were seeing 3-5ft waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left / Right. Early morning through till around 11.00am the wind direction was light on shore out of the S-SSW. Then settled into the ESE-SE for the rest of the afternoon.
Today the 8th after receiving some “surf intel” from my good friend over on the East Coast I thought I had better get over there this morning and shoot some photos. When the surf is only ordinary for Bali standards I’d rather stay at home, but when Bali has World class waves on offer well, I think every surfer wants to check it out.
I arrived over at (the real) Keramas as the tide was just passing the middle of its run in. Wave height as it shows in some of the photo, I shot was maxing at a solid but near perfect triple head high. There was quite a roll up for it today with some of Bali’s best surfers in the water and some red-hot surfing on display for our camera. I only shot around 350 photos in the 2 hrs I was set up and I reckon I could load the whole 350. It was simply that good. I am going to split today’s photos into two parts as I’ve run out of editing time. So make sure you tune in again for Part 2.
Weather wise it was mostly clear and sunny for the time I was on the East coast and it’s still mostly blue sky showing here in Kuta at 2.30pm. Temperature wise it was warm enough for boardies only and shirts off behind the camera.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling for wave height to drop off a foot or two throughout the day. Wind direction is also predicted be mostly out of the South. So the early morning session will be the best chance of clean conditions.
TIDE CHART ALERT: Thanks to our friend Ryan who has the most 100% accurate tidal charts and weather information on Bali and for that matter, all of Indonesia. Ryan made contact with us to let us in on his “top shelf” tidal information and after checking it out here it is. I’ve just added Ryan’s Kuta tidal and weather link up for now on baliwaves. This info is going to be perfect for the Indo adventurers and for you here in Bali. Just click on this link https://www.tideschart.com/Indonesia/Bali/Kota-Denpasar/Kuta-Beach/
That’s about me for today friends and hopefully it is only a matter of months before all our friends can get back here to their favorite surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Ok we really need to give our heartfelt deepest Thanks to everyone who has helped us continue to survive over here with no income of our own for the best part of 2 years. Hopefully we are getting through the worst of things, fingers crossed I guess because we have been saying that since day 1. Maybe 2022 will see the return of visitors to Bali with the World vaccination program making good progress. So Thanks folks for helping us get this far and not too much further to go
So please if any of our friends can spare a dollar or two or order an original baliwaves tee shirt (also now in long sleeve) you would not only be helping my family out but also others in the production sequence. https://www.baliwaves.com/2021/06/help-baliwaves-get-through-the-bali-corona-virus-cash-flow-crisis-with-a-rp90000-original-baliwaves-tee-shirt/ https://www.baliwaves.com/2021/09/help-baliwaves-get-through-the-bali-corona-virus-cash-flow-crisis-with-a-rp120000-original-baliwaves-tee-shirt-long-or-short-sleeve/
