Hello everyone and thanks for staying in touch with your No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali through us here at baliwaves.com. It’s been a very up and down last 21 months since we haven’t had our regular native English-speaking guests and visitors from Australia / America / NZ and England due to the pandemic. Hopefully that is going to change soon the way the World vaccination programs have been running. We really want to Thank all our friends and supporters for all the help that you have given us to help get us this far, we are almost through this. Please don’t give up on us through this last leg of “containment” So if you could spare a dollar or two (every dollar makes a difference) then hit this link https://www.baliwaves.com/2020/08/baliwaves-needs-your-support/
Where we are today in Bali. As it’s been seen on most International media Bali re opened her International airport on the 14th of October and invited a whole heap of countries to come to Bali as tourists. Unfortunately though since then there hasn’t been a single International flight arrive. Lots of restrictions are still in place and quite a few things still needing a bit more clarity on to get through yet. Australia who has been the No.1 visitor country to Bali is still as yet not on the invited country list. Hopefully soon things will become more clear and Bali will see International visitors and the local economy re starting.
Surfwise around the island the last week has seen small to micro conditions and variable wind diection. Yesterday we did see a new pulse of swell hitting the beaches and reef breaks to help spread the crowds out from the usual wave magnet break. So as it shows in today’s photo gallery I thought I had better get out and shoot a few surfing photos. To give you a reality check on what surfing conditions are like at this time of the year.
Wave height over at Keramas this morning was still a respectable 4ft or, well over head on the bigger set waves. The wind was fresh out of the South. The tide was perfect just passing through the middle of the run in. Crowd wise there was a solid turn out between 20-30 surfers of all lebel of skill. I guess people attract people in a lot of different ways. Further donw the beach at the original car park section there were some very similar waves going through an empty line up.
Weather wise it was hot and sunny while I was set up at Keramas. But in a matter of 20 minutes away on the way home it was raining cats and dogs. Right now here in South Kuta at 1.50pm it is looking pretty overcast with the threat of rain. The temp is still a very warm and humid 31C, Humidity is at 75%. Wind direction is now S-SW at 5-10knot. Thunder and lightning storms are also fairly common around Bali this time of the year.
The next tide today will be a 0.5mtr Low at 5.49pm
For tidal info make sure you check this link for accurate tidal ranges in Bali and most of Indonesia. https://www.tideschart.com/Indonesia/Bali/Kota-Denpasar/Kuta-Beach/
Bali Moon Phases for 2021
October Full Moon 20th
November New Moon 4th / Full Moon 19th
December New Moon 4th / Full Moon 18th
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is saying to expect similar sized surf as today, with a slightly better period of 14 seconds. More light and variable wind coming out of the Southern quadrant.
7 day Surf Forecast is not looking too good at all with small waves and at times flat at most locations. Pretty standard for November on average.

The car park section at keramas, is that beach break or reef?
Hi Rik, It’s actually more lava flow rock than anything, sharp and very abrasive. Same as all the breaks along that stretch of the coast.
