Hello everyone and thanks for tuning into the one and only original Bali Surf Report website (since 1999), Well firstly we hope that your New Year is getting off to a better start than what we are still experiencing here in Bali. Surf wise the last couple of months it’s been a real drought for any waves of substance. Mostly cross shore and barely head high as been the norm and there doesn’t appear to be any relief in the next 7 days either.
My conscience got the better of me today after such a long time of not shooting any photos. I just had to take another run over to the East coast and push the shutter a few times. This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was still only showing wave height in the 1-1ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. That was while the tide was on the bottom of the low. So no chance of improvement. What got me convinced to take a run over to Keramas was that this morning the wind was light out of the WNW.
But by the time the tide pushed in enough to be surfable at Keramas the wind was then dedicated to the South and just slowly increaded in strrenght through out the morning. Wave height as it shows in the handful of photos I shot was at best in the chest high range on the better set waves. 17 surfers in the water and for grommets in the water it must have been good fun to be out there.
Weather wise it’s been a mostly overcast day around the island. Right now at 4.pm the temp is on 28C and the wind fresh out of the SSW.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is looking pretty much the same as today with the tending more to the West.

Ok still not much chance or tourism returning yet to the parts of Bali that really need it. There is still a 7 day quarantine in Jakarta in place and no free visa’s only the expensive “B211” visa available. Everyone I know here in Tuban are hurting bad and Kuta is still a big empty ghost town. But still, we are living in hope.
