Hi folks and some nice waves again today for the lucky ones already here in Bali. Yesterday the 17th, our afternoon surf check on the Outer reefs of Tuban was showing wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left in the 2-4ft class. The tide was right down to a 0.2mtr Low at the time and the wind was fresh out of the N-NW.
With the swell forecast still showing our current swell favoring the SSW in direction Ketut and I ducked over to the East coast this morning. It was a good call and it was indeed cranking at Keramas. We arrived just before 9.00am to find super clean and glassy waves in the head to almost double head high class. Crowd wise it was pushing 20-25 surfers but there were still some waves going through unridden.
The local surfers were totally standing out as usual, but it was also good to see some fresh ripsters out there sharing the spotlight. More than likely contenders for the up coming WSL QS event coming up soon in Sumatra. It was around 9.45am that the wind started to whip up out of the East and then turn a little further to the SE. Ketut was with me shooting some video footage so we should have some more “good rips” coming soon.
Weather wise it was a mostly clear morning over on the East side of the island. Right now at 1.45pm the temperature is still a very warm 31C, Humidity level is at 76%. Wind direction is fresh out of the ESE at 10-15knots.
The next tide today will be a reef exposing 0.1mtr Low at 5.38pm.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling for pretty much the same as today with maybe a slight bump through the afternoon. Swell direction is still predominantly out of the SSW. We can also expect a return of fresh to strong ESE wind most of the day.
