Thanks again for staying tuned to the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since back in 1999). Please don’t hesitate to drop us an email for any Bali surf or accommodation info and we’ll do our best to help out.
A big thank you to our friends from Joyos G-Land Surf Camp for sending us through these 2 photos that were taken from over at the jungle. These waves really give you an idea of the power that G-Land really has when the swell hits. Unfortunately G-Land decided to turn off for the WSL contest, delivering perfect solid barrel after barrel just before the contest and now just after the contest. It really would have been epic to see the Worlds best surfers taking on G-land man against wave and reef.
With the SW swell direction it looks like G-Land iis going to be pumping almost non stop over the next 3-5 days. So if it’s long and powerful waves your looking for drop us a line and we will do our best to get you a discount and accommodation up grade on a 7 day stay in camp.
Here in Bali there’s also been no shortage of waves and yesterdays surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing some excellent waves peeling off perfectly out on Kuta Reef on the morning high water. I was talked into taking a run over to the East coast with a promise of un crowded waves and clean conditions. At least we got it half right with super clean conditions but only 2ft / waist to chest high waves.
Today the 10th and with the charts predicting another bump in wave height we got it wrong again. Heading back to the East side. The only reason being we were expecting more swell, didn’t happen, and the fact the wind was light out of the North. We did get a wave in and I was amazed I could still surf a short board in 1-2ft waves. Tomorrow we will be sticking here on the West Coast I assure you.
Weather wise right now at 1.15pm the temperature is a very warm 31 Celsius, Humidity is at 74%. Wind direction is now fresh out of the ESE at 10-12knots.
The next tide today will be a 1.8mtr High at 6.44pm. We will have a New Moon rising on the 14th so we will start to see some better tidal ranges over the coming week.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling for wave height to be dropping off a foot or so but there will still be waves galore along the West Coast. I’d be calling for light and variable wind early before the E-ESE wind kicks in around late morning.
Ketut has also shot a solid batch of video that I will slice and dice up into a new video clip asap. Ok thanks and we look forward to seeing you here soon on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
