Hello folks and we have been doing our best the last couple of days against some very ordinary conditions that have been thrown at us. On the 9th we headed back to Uluwatu on a grey and rainy morning. Arriving at 7.00AM to find wave height had bumped up a little into the 3-4ft+ range. The only problem was that the wind was quite fresh out of the SW-S and it stayed that way for a couple of hours before tending a bit better to the S-SSE around 10.00am. Lots of close outs early with the on shore wind but still a few waves to be had as the morning went on. The Ulu photos feature at the front of today’s photo gallery.
Yesterday the 10th and with our internet intel calling light and variable wind through the morning we headed over to the Eastern side of Bali hoping to see some swell wrapping in there. We stopped in at Keramas for a quick swell check and was a little bit disappointed to only see 1-3 footers breaking on the main break. From there we moved down the beach to one of our old favorite hang outs and caught up with our old friend at Kak Ngurah.
It was probably a touch smaller than the main break of Keramas but the key factor was that it was almost empty. By the time we did get in position it was in fact empty and the boys surfed it to themselves. I have loaded a couple of photos from the session at the end of today’s photo gallery. I hadn’t been in this area for maybe 6-7yrs as there is a better camera angle up the Northern end of the beach. Also because I was pretty sad about the “dolphin park” that had opened right next to the warung.
Yesterday I was happy to see that the “dolphin Park” had closed down and seemed long gone. There was quite a few new additions to this area and it all looked pretty good.
Weather wise we had more early morning intense rain that tapered off and left a mostly grey overcast day.
Today the 11th and it’s been back to Dad duty with a couple of trips into Denpasar to the Australian Embassy. But I do believe that wave height has bumped up a little more and that the wind is fresh off shore out of the ESE-SE. It’s also nice to see a return of a nice blue sky.
Next tide today in Bali will be a 0.1mtr Low at 3.50pm. Tomorrow also will see a Full Moon rising, hence the big today ranges.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling for plenty of waves early before the swell slowly tapering off through out the day. Wind wise the model is predicting more fresh off shore ESE wind.
A new solid swell is still in transit to Bali / Indonesia. Coming out of the SW and should start to blanket most of Indo by the 15th.
