Ok glad to see you all back at the baliwaves and we are stoked to know that many of you have been tuning in to the original Bali surf report website since it all began back in 1999. If we go back to the 5th we spotted a light “no wind” bubble and decided to take a gamble and check out a sometimes quite little break here in Bali. As it shows in the first handful of photos there were a few waves and the gamble paid off. Only 2 other surfers in the water when we arrived and soon our friend was the only rider in the line up with some zippy little right handers in the 2-4ft class.
Yesterday the 6th and wave height was dropping out fast leaving us no alternative to re fuel and take the drive up the West Coast to the once sleepy little hamlet of Balian. The photos describe it pretty well, a regular easy wave style fun park. Wave height was in the chest to over head range with a clean light off shore wind that hang in there until 9.00am. That’s about standard for Balian around this time of the year. As soon as the ESE Tradewind kicks in it’s off shore down the coast and on shore at Balian / Medewi. We really everywhere from Seminyak to Medewi for that matter.
Today the 7th and our 7.00am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in South Kuta had wave height at best in the waist to waist high plus range between Kuta reef and Airport left. The wind is fresh out of the ESE and the sky mostly overcast at this stage.
Tomorrows Swell Forecast is has the wave models showing a nice bump in wave height that should start to show itself later this afternoon. I’ll be doing an afternoon surf check for sure to follow up on this. Wind wise it’s looking like a fresh ESE breeze right across Bali.
The next tide today on Bali will be a 0.4mtr Low at 2.11pm. The next moon phase will be a Full Moon rising on the 10th of September.
Breaking News Department. Well I don’t know if all of you are up to date on this but as of 2 days ago the price of Petrol increased by 30% in one jump. So looking at the big picture with Bali being a small island we can expect the price of everything to follow suit, and I do mean absolutely everything. It’s going to be very hard on a lot of people especially just after living through the pandemic. Effective 4/0922
