Hi friends we really want to thank everyone who has helped us get through the pandemic and total lack of income. I’m so happy to see the speed at which Bali is coming back into swing again. But baliwaves needs camera equipment to carry on, usually we upgrade / burn out our old gear around every 4 yrs. This time round we went 6yrs and were very lucky to get through. But hopefully (fingers crossed) we are on track and on the come back trail again. Please don’t give up on us through this as hopefully we are on the last leg. If you could spare a dollar or two (every dollar makes a difference) then hit this link https://www.baliwaves.com/2020/08/baliwaves-needs-your-support/
Please don’t hesitate to drop us an email for any Bali surf or accommodation info and we’ll do our best to help out.
Hello everyone and thanks again for tuning back into the baliwaves for the latest news and best views on today’s surfing and weather conditions. From here on your favorite tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali. This morning with a light and variable wind Ketut decided on taking a run over to the East Coast. Arriving to the tide was pushing in, wave height in the 3-5ft class and a clean and light off shore wind.
Keramas is always a popular destination for visiting surfers and this morning there was around 25 – 30 surfers in the line up. That doesn’t sound like a big crowd but it’s a pretty tight take off zone at Keramas. Anymore than this and tempers usually start to get a bit edgy.
I also heard it straight from the horses mouth that there were also plenty of waves breaking between Kuta reef and Airport Right as the tide pushed in. Kuta Reef has been a bit hectic, for lack of better words but there other sections of the reef that have been delivering some lower crowds. Wave height out on the reefs this morning was also in the 3-5ft range. Light and glassy surfing conditions early before turning more to the S – SSW.
Weather wise Ketut said there was a bit of cloud over on the East coast but here in South Kuta it’s been a mostly hot and sunny day. Right now at 2.30pm the temp is still a warm 29C with the Humidity 70%.
The next tide today here in Bali will be a 0.2mtr Low at 5.02pm.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast has the wave models showing just a slight drop in wave height. More light and variable wind early before dedicating from the South by midday.
It certainly is that time of the year again. Going into the transition from dry to wet season, not that I can really say it has been a dry season with the amount of rain that has been falling all year. The wet season is not so straight forward when it comes to regular wind direction ie the Trade wind. The next few months we will see the wind swing all over the compass and a little more tricky in finding the best waves to suit.
We have also added some boardshorts and trucker caps into our original baliwaves surf wear page so check it out and order up some quality made apparel exclusive to baliwaves.

Breaking News Department. Petrol has jumped 30% in price from the 4th of September so be prepared for slight increases in all prices on just about everything here in Bali. The first of the increases was LPG, our 5kg refils have gone from Rp135K now at 230K for the same fill. 95% of Indonesia runs on gas for cooking so that’s going to hurt everyone.
