Hi friends we really want to thank everyone who has helped us get through the pandemic and total lack of income. I’m so happy to see the speed at which Bali is coming back into swing again. But, the Kuta and Tuban area are still a fair way off “normal” We have just been able to cover our daily living costs but that’s about it. Just for the record, due to our old camera equipment failing we did a deal with a good friend and regular visitor who stayed with us for 3 weeks. Our guy’s rent just covered a thousand dollars which we exchanged for a mid quality new camera. It was a tough 3 weeks though, with very little income, again.
But baliwaves needs camera equipment to carry on, usually we upgrade / burn out our old gear around every 4 yrs. This time round we went 6yrs and were very lucky to get through. But hopefully (fingers crossed) we are on track and on the come back trail again. Please don’t give up on us through this as hopefully we are on the last leg. If you could spare a dollar or two (every dollar makes a difference) then hit this link https://www.baliwaves.com/2020/08/baliwaves-needs-your-support/
Please don’t hesitate to drop us an email for any Bali surf or accommodation info and we’ll do our best to help out.
Keeping the ball rolling and here’s our photos that were shot over on the East coast yesterday morning the 23rd. Picture perfect waves breaking in the 3-5ft class in smooth as silk conditions. It’s a bit of a contrast today the 24th. The SE Trade wind kicked in early and quite fresh. The wind swung more to the SSE around mid morning, more suited to the tucked under the cliff type locations along Bali’s Southern end of the island.
Our surf check on the Outer Reefs here in South Kuta this morning had wave height in the 3-4ft+ range again but with the wind mostly off shore. While further up the coast a little ways it’s hitting the waves from the cross / on shore angle, Canggu to Medewi. Our man on the East side has phoned through calling wave height to have bumped up quite a bit over night but the early Trade wind is not doing conditions any favors along the East Coast of Bali.
Weather wise right now at 12.30pm we have a sunny Saturday afternoon coming on with the temperature current on 29C and the Humidity at 77%. The wind is now SSE at 4-8knt.
The next tide today will be a 0.3mtr Low at 3.22PM and we have a New Moon rising tomorrow the 25th.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast has the wave models starting to show wave height tapering off through out the day, should still be plenty of waves around in the right locations though. Wind direction is forecast to be ESE-SSE.
Tomorrow the 25th and I’ll be pretty busy attending my Balinese Otonan ceremony up in our family village. It’s a pretty big day for me and my family but I’ll try and share some images from through out the day onto our FB page. We should be back to normal again on Monday. So wishing everyone the best of everything for the remainder of the weekend, Talk to ya’s again soon.
We have also added some boardshorts and trucker caps into our original baliwaves surf wear page so check it out and order up some quality made apparel exclusive to baliwaves.
Breaking News Department. Petrol has jumped 30% in price from the 4th of September so be prepared for slight increases in all prices on just about everything here in Bali. The first of the increases was LPG, our 5kg refils have gone from Rp135K now at 230K for the same fill. 95% of Indonesia runs on gas for cooking so that’s going to hurt everyone.
