yesterday the 2nd and our surf check on the Outer reefs of Tuban was showing some pretty good size with head to almost double head high waves hitting Kuta Reef to Airport left. Middle reef was as usual picking up the biggest set waves. Surfing conditions were doable but with a cross / on shore wind blowing out of the SSE – S. There were a few surfers on each main section of the big D shaped living coral reef. but no where near the usual numbers we have seen on the smaller days.

This morning our 6.30am surf check on the Outers was showing wave height o have dropped up a notch or two. Chest to over head high waves breaking between Kuta reef and Airport left. Surfing conditions were not too bad with a light Northerly wind. As it shows in today’s photo gallery we made the most of this mornings conditions and took a run up to the black sand beach of Canggu.

Wave height at the main breaks of the Gu were still getting some solid 4 footers and maybe even a few 5 ft freak sets. The Right hand river mouth was looking the best while the left hand Sandbar section was also delivering some nice rides. Our team arrived at 7.30am to find an almost empty line up but Ketut said by 9.00am there were plenty of surfers on the lefts and rights.

The Tide has just passed through the bottom of the Low and we will have a 2.0mtr High at 7.16pm this evening.

Weather wise today it has certainly been a steady return to that hot and steamy Bali tropical weather again today. Blue sky, right now at 12.55pm the temp is a warm 32C, humidity is at 69%. Wind direction is more SSE at the moment at 5-8knt.

Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling for another dip in wave height but there will still be plenty of waves on both sides of the island. The wind is predicted be be similar today with a light Easterly early turning ESE -SE throughout the day (fingers crossed)

Breaking News Department. Petrol has jumped 30% in price from the 4th of September so be prepared for slight increases in all prices on just about everything here in Bali. The first of the increases was LPG, our 12kg refills have gone from Rp135K now at 230K for the same fill. 95% of Indonesia runs on gas for cooking so that’s going to hurt everyone. Everyone that is that’s not using US, Euro, GP or AU dollars that is.
