Today’s photos were from yesterday over on the black sand coast. I haven’t even had a chance to download today’s photos from Mr Ketut as yet but I might get that far before I throw this PC out the window hehe. We are also trying to throw together a seafood BBQ for our guests this evening so it’s all systems go.
This morning I just went with the flow and it was Uluwatu we ended up visiting. Arriving at 6.15am just as the sun was supposed to be rising. But instead of rays of sun shine it was drops of rain and a dreary old grey sky. So much for an extra dry rain free year in the tropics hey. (A friend sent me a detailed report from a major player in the surf report game (USA) saying how it was going to be a super dry year according to their “predictions” but so far we are still getting more than our fair share of water falling out of the sky. Last night alone our 50 Gal rain collecting drum was filled off the roof run off) A few drops turned into a deluge and stayed that way all morning till we packed up at 10.45am.
Surf wise as always Uluwatu was cranking through perfect waves from Temples down to the Main Peak. The tide was filling in fast for a 2.5mtr for something just after 10.00am, so the Racetrack tubular section was out of the equation. Yes it was pumping, Uluwatu always does. But the problem was mostly with the 150 or so mostly learner surfers in the water with many of them being pushed in to waves. BTW wave height was in the head to double head high range and not your standard learn to surf conditions. But Uluwatu was still doing her part, it was cranking.
Weather wise we had rain most of the night here in South Kuta and more rain down at Uluwatu. Right now at 2.50pm the sun has finally busted out and the temp is a warm 31C, humidity is 76% and the wind is SE @ 25kms/h.
The next tide today in Bali will be a reef exposing 0.10mtr Low at 4.41pm.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast has the models calling a slight drop in wave height that will be hardly noticable. Wind wise some more of the same fresh SE.
We will be out for the dawn patrol again so stay tuned and we will keep you up to date with what’s happening surf and weather wise here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
