Balangan Surf Report – Tuesday 21st July 2026
Ketut was down on the Bukit early this morning for a look at Balangan and reported wave height sitting in the 3 to 5 foot range with a few bigger ones running through on the sets. The wind was offshore right from the start which held the faces clean and tidy as they lined up across the reef. Crowd wise it was a steady turnout with surfers spread along the peak, nothing too packed, and there were plenty of waves getting through for anyone happy to move around and wait for the better ones.
As the morning went on Ketut mentioned the waves kept lining up nicely across the reef, with the longer range swell giving them a bit more push behind them. The offshore stayed put through the morning which kept everything clean, and the better sets were standing up with some proper shape for the surfers sitting in the right spot. It held consistent right through the early window, so anyone out first thing had no shortage of waves to pick from and the reef was doing its job.
Weather & Tides
Out there today it was around 25C with plenty of sun about and the offshore wind keeping things comfortable through the morning. On the tides today the water was draining early down to a low around 9:34am, which left the reef a touch shallow first thing before it began filling back in. The next high is due around 3:13pm through the afternoon which should keep enough water over the reef, before it eases back again to another low around 8:48pm this evening.
Surf Forecast
Looking ahead the swell looks set to hold with a bit of size on tap. Wednesday should see around 5 foot pushing through, and Thursday and Friday are holding steady in the 4 to 5 foot range. Winds are looking a bit more variable across those days, so the early mornings should be the cleanest bet before any local wind builds through the day. Check the swell forecast for the full picture on the days ahead.
