Canggu Surf Report – Thursday 23rd July 2026
Ketut was up around Canggu today and reported one of those grey overcast days where nothing looked too inviting from the sand. Wave height was sitting in the 2 to 3 foot range with the odd bigger one running through, and the wind was light offshore which at least kept the faces clean enough to work with. Ketut mentioned it was not the best conditions on offer, gloomy skies and a bit flat looking, but there were still a few waves getting through for anyone keen to get wet.
As the day went on the tide was filling in toward the afternoon high, and that extra water helped the better sets line up a touch nicer across the bank. Crowd wise Ketut did not report big numbers, so it was never going to be a fight for waves, more a case of picking your spot and waiting for a set to swing your way. Nothing too special through the middle of the day, but the offshore held on and kept things tidy enough that patient surfers still found a few worth having.
Weather & Tides
Right now it is sitting around 25C with overcast skies and a light offshore southeast wind about, water a comfortable 24C so no complaints on the warmth. On the tides today, the water was filling in through the afternoon toward a high around 3:57pm before draining back down to a low near 9:13pm this evening. The next high rolls in early tomorrow around 4:34am, so the early risers will have the tide pushing back over the bank again.
Surf Forecast
Looking ahead there is a bit more size on the way. Friday should see waves jump up to around 5 foot on a longer 13 second swell, then Saturday builds further into the 5 to 7 foot range as the swell keeps filling in. By Sunday it looks like pushing toward 7 foot, so plenty of size for those chasing it, though winds are looking variable so the early mornings will likely be the best call before any local wind gets going. Have a look at the swell forecast for the full picture on the days ahead.
