Uluwatu Surf Report – Thursday 30th July 2026
Ketut was over at Uluwatu on Thursday with the camera and reported wave height sitting in the 2 to 4 foot range, with a few bigger ones showing up on the better sets. Skies were a bit cloudy through the middle of the day and the offshore wind was blowing hard, hard enough to hold the waves up on take off and put a bit of a bump into the ones that came through wide. Crowd wise it was busy, with surfers spread from the Main Peak across to the inside sections and plenty of people out looking for a wave. Ketut got over to Legian on the same day as well, so there are shots from both spots in the gallery.
The water was still filling in when Ketut turned up and that helped the waves line up better across the reef as the morning went on. Earlier there was less water over the shallow parts and the inside sections were closing out quicker, which made it harder to get down the line. Once the tide had come in the waves had more shape to them and there were plenty getting through with clean faces. That strong offshore held right through, so anyone comfortable with a late drop was getting the pick of them. Ketut mentioned the crowd built as the water came in and it got a little competitive around the peak, though there were still waves on offer for anyone happy to sit wide and wait their turn.
Weather & Tides
Right now it is sitting around 25C with cloudy skies about and that offshore still blowing through. On the tides, there was an early low around 5:30am before the water filled in to the high at 11:18am, which is when the waves were at their best across the reef. From there it drains back out to a low at 5:43pm, so the reef gets shallow again late in the day. Tomorrow runs much the same pattern with the high just before midday at 11:49am and the low at 6:07pm.
Surf Forecast
Looking ahead there is a bit more size on the way. Friday should see 4 to 5 foot with a longer period behind it, then Saturday eases back to around 4 foot before Sunday picks up a little again to about 5 foot. Winds look variable across the next few days, so early mornings will be the safest call before the local wind gets into it. There should be plenty of waves about right through the weekend, and there is more detail on the swell forecast page.
