Keramas Surf Report – Sunday 2nd August 2026
Ketut was over on the East Coast early this morning and reported Keramas running in the 2 to 4 foot range, with the odd bigger one pushing through off the longer period swell. The wind was offshore first up which kept the faces clean and tidy right across the reef. It was a bit busy out there with around 30 surfers in the water, although they were spread out enough that waves were still getting through to most people.
Ketut mentioned the offshore held until about 9:30am before it started to move onshore, and that was the turning point for the morning. Up until then the waves were lining up nicely across the reef with plenty of them worth taking off on. Once the wind swung the faces went a bit bumpier and the better ones got harder to pick, so the earlier you got out the better you did. The extra water coming in through the middle of the morning helped the wave shape a little, but the crowd built at the same time and it got a bit competitive on the better sets.
Weather & Tides
Right now it is sitting around 29C with the water about 25C, cloudy through the early part of the morning before it cleared up and turned sunny from around 9am. Tide wise today there was a low just after 7am with the water still draining early, so the reef was a touch shallow first up. The next high comes in around 1:19pm before easing back to another low late this evening, which should keep enough water over the reef through the middle of the day.
Surf Forecast
Looking ahead there is a bit of size on the way. Tuesday is showing around 4 foot on a 13 second swell, then Wednesday picks up a little to the 4 to 5 foot mark, and Thursday holds around 5 foot on a much longer 17 second swell which should get the waves lining up properly across the reef. Nothing too major but there will be plenty of waves about, and with the local wind building most mornings the early check is still the best call. Have a look at the swell forecast for the full picture.
