Keramas Surf Report – Thursday 6th August 2026
Ketut was over on the East Coast at Keramas early this morning and reported wave height sitting around the 3 foot mark with a few bigger ones coming through on the run in tide. The wind was cross shore from the start so it was not the cleanest out there, but there were still plenty of waves getting through for the 15 or so surfers in the water. Nothing too major, still worth a look if you were already over that way.
Ketut mentioned the extra water helped things line up better across the reef as the morning went on, and the size crept up rather than dropped away. The longer range swell sitting out there was doing most of the work, so even with the cross shore bump the better sets were holding their shape long enough to be worth paddling for. Crowd wise it stayed manageable the whole time he was there, with surfers spread out enough that everyone was getting a wave or two. Ketut and the crew packed it in and headed home around lunchtime and copped a bit of traffic on the way back.
Weather & Tides
Right now it is sitting around 26C, and Ketut said the morning started out a bit cloudy before it cleared off and turned sunny from about 9am. On the tides today the water was still filling in through the morning which is what helped the waves keep their shape, and the next low is due around 8:05pm this evening before the high comes back just before 3am. It then drains down to a low around 9:44am tomorrow morning, so the early crew will have less water over the reef than Ketut had today.
Surf Forecast
Looking ahead the swell is holding rather than fading away, with the period staying up around 15 seconds right through the weekend. Friday and Saturday should both run a touch bigger than today with the better sets carrying more push, then Sunday eases back only slightly, so there will still be plenty of waves about. The local wind is the thing to keep an eye on again, so early mornings before it fills in will be the better call, and the swell forecast has the full picture if you are planning a few days out.
