Keramas Surf Report – Monday 31st August 2026
Ketut was back over on the East Coast at Keramas early on Monday morning and reported wave height sitting in the 3 to 4 foot range with the odd bigger one coming through on the better sets. Wind was light offshore for the whole check which kept things clean and lining up across the reef. Crowd wise there were around 20 surfers out and they were spread across the peak enough that waves were still getting through to most people looking for one.
Ketut mentioned it stayed nice and clean right through, with plenty of waves getting through rather than long flat spells between sets. The longer period swell was doing most of the work, so sets arrived with a bit of space between them and the waves had time to line up properly on the reef. Water was still draining down towards the low through the early part of the morning which left the reef a little shallow, so the takeoff was steeper on the bigger ones. Once the water started to fill in later the waves eased off a touch but there were still fun waves about, and with the wind holding offshore the surface stayed tidy. No pro surfers were reported around.
Weather & Tides
Right now it is sitting around 24C with the water about 25C, so sunny conditions and nothing much in the way of rain about. On the tides today we had a low around 6:52am which had the reef pretty dry early before the water began pushing back over it, with the next high due around 1:01pm and sitting a fair bit lower than the overnight one. From there it eases back again to another low around 6:39pm before a bigger high just after 1:10am, and that mid morning fill in was when Ketut said the waves lined up nicest.
Surf Forecast
Looking ahead there is a bit more size on the way, with Wednesday shaping up around the 5 foot mark on a long period swell and Thursday holding at 4 to 5 foot before it starts easing back to around 4 foot on Friday. Winds look variable through that run, so early mornings should be the best call before any local wind builds through the middle of the day. Nothing too major changing, just steady size and still worth a look most days, and you can check the swell forecast for the full picture.
