East Coast Surf Report – Tuesday 13th October 2026
Ketut was back over on the East Coast today and reported wave height in the 4 to 6 foot range, a solid step up with plenty of size on the sets. The wind was offshore when he got there and Ketut called it pumping, with clean faces and the bigger ones lining up across the reef. Crowd wise there were around 15 surfers out, which is not many for a day with this much swell, so there were plenty of waves to go around.
Ketut mentioned the tide was filling in through the morning, and once the extra water got over the reef the sets started to line up better and run down the line instead of closing out on the inside. The swell behind it is a long range south swell with around 15 seconds between waves, so the sets came through in solid groups with a decent lull in between, and a few bigger ones kept surfers honest out the back. The wind stayed offshore the whole time Ketut was there with no sign of it swinging, and with only 15 out the crowd stayed spread across the peak rather than everyone sitting on the one spot. Not a day for the beginners, but for anyone comfortable in a bit of size it was well worth the drive.
Weather & Tides
Right now it’s sitting around 25C with light winds about. The tide was low early this morning before it filled in towards a small high around the middle of the day, which is what helped things line up through the late morning. Tonight the water is pushing back in to a bigger high around 11:30pm, then it drains right out to a low around 6am tomorrow before filling in to a high around midday and easing back again to a low around 5:30pm. That means a fairly dry reef first thing on Wednesday, so give it an hour or two for the water to come back in before paddling out.
Surf Forecast
Looking ahead the swell is holding with size for a few more days. Wednesday is showing 5 to 6 foot with around 14 seconds between waves, so much the same as today if not a touch bigger on the sets. Thursday drops back to 4 to 5 foot and Friday should settle around 4 foot as the swell slowly backs off. Winds are looking variable over the next few days, so early mornings should be the cleanest before any local wind builds, and the filling tide through the late morning will be the window to aim for.
