Keramas Surf Report – Thursday 8th October 2026
Ketut was over on the East Coast at Keramas today and reported wave height sitting in the 3 to 5 foot range with the odd bigger set pushing through. The wind was offshore from the start and stayed that way, so the faces were clean and the right was lining up across the reef nicely. Ketut said it was about as good as Keramas gets, plenty of waves getting through and no shortage of long ones.
The swell behind it is a long range south swell with around 16 seconds between waves, which is why the sets had a bit of push behind them and came through in groups with a lull in between. Ketut mentioned the sets were regular enough that nobody was sitting around too long, and the longer period meant the bigger ones stood up well out on the reef before running down the line. With the tide filling in through the morning there was plenty of water over the reef and the wave held its shape right through the mid morning window. The wind stayed light offshore the whole time Ketut was there, no sign of it swinging, which kept things tidy well past the point it normally starts to go off.
Weather & Tides
On the weather front it was a sunny day right through, sitting around 27C with a light breeze and no rain about. Looking at the tides, the water was pushing in through the early part of the morning towards a high around 9am, then draining back out through the middle of the day to a low mid afternoon which took a bit of the push out of it later on. The next high is due around 9:15pm tonight before it drops to a low around 3:15am, then it fills back in to a high around 9:30am on Friday morning and eases back to a low at 3:20pm. That morning push on Friday lines up well with the early window.
Surf Forecast
Looking ahead there is more size on the way. Friday is showing 6 to 7 foot from the south with around 15 seconds between waves, so expect a step up from today and a bit more to think about on the bigger ones. Saturday eases back to around 5 foot before Sunday picks up a little again to 5 to 6 foot. Winds are looking variable across the weekend, so early mornings should be the cleanest before any local wind builds, and Keramas should handle the extra size well on the filling tide.
