Hello everyone and sorry for such a big break between updates. But for me the last 2 weeks has been one of the wildest rides for me health wise. It all started 2 days after my 3rd booster vaccination was administered. Out of the blue my heart started going into a drum roll frenzy that all most blacked me out. Subsiding with a splitting head ache that lasted 2 days. Well, I thought that was a pretty bad reaction but all done. Then 6 days later I pretty much went through the same again. This time the head ache would last another 7 days. Four of those days I wasn’t even able to get out of bed without getting the wobbles. I made it to the Dr eventually thinking the worst (as usual) but my Dr assured me it was a bad reaction to the vaccine and should pass.

Here in Bali, we didn’t get a choice of which vaccine we could have, it was take it or leave it and most of us ended up with 3 servings of the AZ vaccine.

The good news is that it is slowing passing and just about out of my system or under control in my system is more like it. I’m still a bit light headed and easily out of wind but getting there. Good enough to take the trip over to the east Coast this morning and snap a few photos for you anyway.

I arrived over at Keramas this morning just after 9.00 am to find wave height in the 3–4-foot class with a few double head high set waves thrown in for good measure. The wind was light out of the West and on shore but surfing conditions were still clean and glassy. Crowd wise I counted 10 surfers in the water on Keramas and a few more down the beach at the Car Park section. With the swell that was on offer I would imagine the crowd would have been spread out right along the East Coast in both directions.

Weather wise it was mostly sunny over on the east side this morning. Some of you may have seen the Morning surf and weather video report I posted on our baliwaves Face book page earlier this morning while we were on the scene. Right now, at 2.15pm the temperature is a warm 30 degrees Celsius; Humidity is at 75%. Wind direction is still coming out of the West at 10-11knot.

Tomorrows surf forecast is calling for pretty much another carbon copy swell and direction wise. We can also expect more W-WNW wind early before dedicating to the West by mid-morning.

The Long-Range surf forecast is not looking real good with more waist to head high waves and no real swell generating systems on the radar over the next 7 days.

Ok, Bali quarantine, no quarantine dilemma. I’ve had so many messages saying that Bali is now quarantine free and visa on arrival has been reinstated. Well unfortunately there is still a requirement to book 4 days in a selected hotel for your arrival. This is being referred to as a “warm up” start to vacation in Bali.. The VOA is also not a free tourist visa and will cost Rp500,000. for a 30 day non extendable stay in Bali / Indonesia. All that I have mentioned is still not in current effect. There is another requirement that Bali reaches at least 30% of it’s population as 3rd dose vaccinated (currently around 14.9%) before implementation. I’m also not certain that the President of Indonesia has signed off on all this as yet.
