Thanks again for staying tuned to the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since back in 1999).
Hello everyone, yesterday Ketut and I had to take a run up to the busy Balinese city of Tabanan so we didn’t get a chance to shoot any photos or surf reports. But we do hope that you had a quick read of the latest installment from our resident writer Nick Brechle on how it felt to be free to travel to Bali again.
Plenty of swell hitting the Southern end of the island today. So good to see some much better waves bending into the wave arena of Uluwatu. As it shows in our current photos, we shot this morning wave height was hitting the Main Peak in the 3-5ft class with even a few freak sets pushing into the triple head high division. Some insane tube riding going down from those that knew how to hold a rail and weave through heaving sections. There was 48 surfers spread from the Racetrack through to the top of the Race track and another dozen riders down at temples.
With the tide dropping through the morning but only bottoming out to 1.0mtr low it really wasn’t quite perfect for the Racetrack section with just a little too much bump on the Tracks trademark barrel section. Although there was still a few peel off and delivered the goods. Hopefully Ketuts video he shot will give us a good insight when I get a chance to download and view it. But I’m pretty sure we will be putting a short video together from today’s great waves at Uluwatu.
Weather wise it was mostly sunny down at Ulu this morning but still a few pesky clouds stealing my light from time to time. Right now, at 4.45pm the temperature is still a warm 30C with light cloud cover here in South Kuta. The wind has been fresh and gusty right from the word go ESE @ 15-18knot
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling for another slight bump in wave height and a slight shift to a more SSW direction. We can expect the wind to be a lot lighter than today’s gusty 15-29knot ESE and a little more variable early.
Although the national holidays have officially ended there is still a lot of traffic. Just for the record yesterday the 10th I think there were 11 flights landed in Bali from Australia. So get ready Bali because the Aussies are on the march again.
Ok that’s me for today and tomorrow I think I’ll be more than likely found somewhere between Kuta reef and Airport Left for a little deep cleansing.
Again, I want to express Many Many Thanks to everyone that has helped my Family and i survive through this crisis, I don’t know where we would be without your help to get this far.
