Again, I want to express Many Many Thanks to everyone that has helped my Family and i survive through this crisis, I don’t know where we would be without your help to get this far. Please don’t give up on us through this as hopefully we are on the last leg. So if you could spare a dollar or two (every dollar makes a difference) then hit this link https://www.baliwaves.com/2020/08/baliwaves-needs-your-support/
Hello Bali surfers, well it’s so good to be semi mobile again after almost a week of being posted at home. I managed to drive our car over to the RipCurl HQ to get my RC tide watch a new battery and service and then even managed to ride the old Honda down the beach for an afternoon surf check and some laughs with my mates. BTW, if you have a RipCurl tide watch make sure you take her into their Sunset Road HQ and get a new battery and service and save yourself around 50 dollars on a battery replacement alone.
Back to the waves and our friends at Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp have kept the images from G-Land flowing to us and the latter half of today’s Gallery features how G-Land was looking on the 26th and yesterday the 27th on the peak of this swell.
Every surfer that comes to Indonesia on a surf mission should experience G-Land at least once, it is un forgettable place. So drop me a line for more incentive to get you to G-Land with a discount and maybe an up grade in accommodation.
Yesterday the 27th, Ketut rode down to Padang Padang after the morning call to run the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup Trial selection event was given. I’m still looking through the video that Ketut shot. So far I’ve seen some sick tube riding from the 32 local surfers that were selected to shoot it out for the 8 open slots into the main event, the RipCurl Cup. The event was run and these are the surfers on the day that made the cut into the main event. We wish all of these guys good luck in the main event.

I’ve also loaded a few photos that came off Ketut’s phone into today’s photo gallery. Yesterday’s waves were not quite what Padang Padang is know for, just a couple of feet short of being cranking PP. But still there were a few set waves that delivered a taste of what we can expect if the main event runs next month.
Yesterday afternoon it looked like wave height had dropped off quite a bit from the morning. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left was down into the 2-4ft class with a fresh off shore ESE wind. All reports from my crew who also ferry surfers out to the reefs reckoned they had a quite day with low crowds. Possibly due to the bigger sized waves (3-5ft+) that were hitting the reef earlier.
This morning’s 7.30am surf check on the Outers was showing wave height to be still in the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. The tide running in for a 2.3mtr High (Nb; Our tide ranges for Bali and most locations around Indonesia are 100% accurate) and the wind was fresh off shore out of the East. The wind does hit these Outer reefs pretty hard with no brick walls to buffer. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come in from out there with my eye’s torn to pieces from the Tradewind. Another noticeable thing this morning was the return of the learner surfers in numbers, I wonder why.
Weather wise today here in Bali we had a mostly blue sky early but there is a bit of cloud blowing through now at 11.30am. The temperature is a warm28C and the Humidity at 76%.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast has the wave models (StormSurf.com) calling in another slightly smaller swell than yesterdays to start showing on our reefs in the morning and building through out the day. Another SSW swell that will be dropping off fast by the 30th

Beautiful photos of the G land and nice side shot of the Bukit. Looks like the surfers dream of love, waves, girls and Bali under the stars. In Hawaii known as Hot Summer Nights, Hot Hawaiian Tropical Nights. Keep up the good work. Best to all. Mango
