Hi folks and well well, we were waiting for our new swell to arrive and although it was slow to show it certainly turned up. Our 7.00am surf check on the Outer reefs (just down the road from home) was only showing 2-4 footers with maybe a slightly bigger freak set hitting Middle Reef while the tide was on the bottom. The Surfline Uluwatu webcam was also looking like there wasn’t a lot happening down there around the same time. But my good friend Sarge sent through a message to me saying G-Land was getting rocked with solid set waves (long period / long wait) since late yesterday afternoon.
The wind forecast was predicting light and variable wind to start off today so as it shows in today’s photo gallery we waited for the tide to turn and bee line for Keramas. Arriving at 8.30am to find a pretty big crowd and wave height looking to be a nice fun sized 3-4ft (head to well over head). Surfing conditions were as predicted, clean and glassy. It wasn’t until around 10.30am that the ESE Tradewind started to kick in. I do have to say that as the tide continues to push in there was the odd double head high freaky.
Weather wise its been a real nice day here on the holiday island with pretty much nothing more than blue sky. Right now at 2.30pm the temperature is a nice 30C with the Humidity at 70%. The wind is ESE at 10-12knt.
The next tide today will be a 0.2mtr Low at 6.46pm
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling for more waves slightly smaller than today and tapering off throughout the day. The wind should be ESE-SE from sun up to sun down.
Changing dollars to Rupiah this afternoon had the Australian dollar at Rp10,000.
Yesterday afternoon certain things became much clearer to me. I had to drop off a mate up in the Berawa / Canggu area. I really wasn’t ready for the grid locked traffic from Petetinget to Berawa and through to Tibubeneng. Now It’s clear why tourists who stay or live in that area don’t really travel anywhere else. I will never again complain about traffic on the bukit or Sanur ever again. Give me the easy flowing Kuta / South Kuta traffic any day.
So that’s about us for today, our Team Member Mr Ketut was also over at Keramas with me today and was behind the video camera blasting away. So I think we are pretty close to having enough video footage to slice up another half decent video for you. Thanks again and stay tuned to the baliwaves.com and all our media platforms for almost non stop Bali surfing information.

Doc says
Yes Slim, your comment about the traffic is spot on.
For 2 months I was based in Seminyak and it was OK getting to my best spots if I left home before 7 am. @5 minutes to Pererenan one way and 30 minutes to KR the other. Anytime after 9 am — forget it.
Slim says
Yes Doc I will never complain about traffic down at Uluwatu etc ever again after experiencing the “Berawa traffic” it was insane and apparently a daily occurrence
